Dr Abul Bashar Shahriar Ahmed qualified from Bangladesh Medical College & Hospital in 2003 and trained at various prestigious Urology institutions, which include BIRDEM General Hospital, Dhaka Medical College, Changi General Hospital, National University Hospital Singapore. After completing specialist training, he obtained postgraduate qualifications MRCSEd, FCPS (Surgery), MS (Urology) in 2010, 2014, 2018 accordingly.  He developed his specialist interest in Advanced Laparoscopic Urological procedures, Uro Oncology, Reconstructive Urology and Advanced Urinary Endourology.

Before joining United Hospital, he was appointed as Associate Professor of Urology, Enam Medical College, Dhaka, Bangladesh where he plays an important role in undergraduate student training and examiner of post graduate examination.

Dr. Shahriar is laparoscopically trained to perform both radical nephrectomies and nephroureterectomies for renal and ureteric cancers. He is also skilled in a variety of surgical procedures including monopolar/bipolar TURP, TURBT, Holmium laser, RIRS, enucleation of the prostate gland.

He has a handful of publications in different National & International journal.
