She passed MBBS in 1989 from Rajshahi Medical College under Rajshahi University. She has done her MD in Radiotherapy from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), Dhaka in 2006. She joined in government job in Dhaka Medical College Hospital as a Radiotherapist in October, 2004. Thereafter she joined as Registrar in Department of Medical Oncology of National Institute of Cancer Research & Hospital, Dhaka (NICRH) and then she promoted as a Professor of Medical Oncology Department in January 2019 in the same Institution. She has more than 24 years clinical experience in different Government Medical Colleges & Hospitals including more than 15 years experience in Medical oncology.

Prof. Dr. Nazrina Khatun is the Life time Member of Medical Oncology Society (MOSB), Bangladesh Cancer Society (BCS) amd Shanti Cancer Foundation of Bangladesh (SCFB).
