United Hospital Observed World Cancer Day
The theme of World Cancer Day for the year 2019 is “I Am and I Will”. Like every year, United Hospital observed World Cancer Day this year in befitting manner by conducting Free Health Check-up in a health check booth at hospital lobby. Around 450 patients and their family members availed free health check throughout the day.
Md. Faizur Rahman, Chief Executive Officer of United Hospital Limited inaugurated the booth. He emphasized on the effort United Hospital will give in spreading awareness for prevention of cancer, though the hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art Cancer Centre and other facilities. Consultant of Oncology Department, Dr. Rashid Un Nabi, Dr. Saumen Basu and Dr. Ashim Kumar Sengupta were present in the event among other department’s doctors and nurses. Speakers expressed their pledge in the program to the cancer patients that they are not alone. Dr. Shagufa Anwar, Chief of Communication & Business Development of the Hospital reiterated the need to do Cancer Screening, especially for those who have family history of Cancer in other family members.
