Patient Forum on Osteoporosis: A Community Engagement Initiative
On the theme of Love your Bone, World Osteoporosis Day was commemorated, by a Patient Forum organized on 19 October to add value to the treatment & management of Osteoporosis with patients who are suffering from osteoporosis and also with those who are at risk. In this hour-long session, educational awareness discussion took place about Osteoporosis. Consultants from Orthopaedics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Nuclear Medicine departments spoke on the session. Patients were also counseled about bone health concerning diet & nutrition and physiotherapy. Present patients received management advice from Orthopaedic doctors based on the bone health assessment questionnaire survey done to assess their current score.
